We held a charity event at Discovery Bay Recreation Club from 26th to 29th October. HIV/AIDS knowledge exhibition, hand painting, photo taking and charity sales booths were held. Many residents showed their interest, support and purchased handcrafts made by our members. We are very thankful for their contributions in making a difference for our members. We would like to give a big applause to Discovery Bay Recreation Club Ltd. for the generous support on event venue and ticket donation of their Halloween party.
To echo World AIDS Day to be held on 1st December, we have kick started our“Stop AIDS with Love'' campaign, encouraging public to leave encouraging messages for PLHIV . The exhibition display was held at Sheung Tak Plaza at Tseung Kwan O from 10th to 13th October. Our exhibition booth presented direct patient care services, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, women phone-in hotline and free HIV testing service to the public. We look forward to seeing you in next exhibition!
In Sept, we have visited Yan Oi Tong Chan Wong Suk Fong Memorial Secondary School and St. Teresa Secondary School to showcase the 100 award-winning and outstanding masks. We are pleased to announce that “Say No to Discrimination!” Masks Design Contest 2017-2018 is now open for enrollment.
On 21st October, we organized a birthday party at SAC Center to celebrate members who born between October and December. To strengthen our members’ health knowledge, our nurse presented a health talk on syncope. We also prepared several group games to help our members familiar with each others and integrate new members into our big family. We all hope that our members’ birthday wishes will come true and live happily every day.
A health talk on “knee osteoarthritis” was organized on 27 Sept . The main content included signs and symptoms of knee osteoarthritis, management and treatment principles, as knee osteoarthritis is a common age related problem. Participants understood self-management and appropriate exercises are better long term strategies against knee osteoarthritis rather than rely on pain killer and surgery.
We are grateful to have our annul Mid-Autumn Festival party on 16 Sept. With the theme “Love‧Reunion”, our members, old and young, participated in this joyful event. More than 80 people gathered together enjoying the happy moment. They all felt beloved in the reunion, and made the busy center more energetic than usual weekdays.
