Public Education & Promotion

Public training and education in HIV/AIDS are among our key objectives in our mission in appealing to the public the importance of HIV prevention and acceptance to people living with HIV/AIDS. Accordingly, we regularly displayed HIV/AIDS related promotional materials in a HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Exhibition. Our group of SAC Ambassadors, volunteers and staff manage an on-street booth in different locations in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories to introduce the importance of AIDS prevention. They distribute red ribbons and AIDS related publications, and answer enquiries regarding our service to the public. Regular Public Education Exhibition raise the public awareness of AIDS prevention and care in Hong Kong, posing a positive impact on the general public.

“Say No to Discrimination!” Masks Exhibition

Over one hundred outstanding masks designed and handmade by local secondary school students and public will be on display to showcase the thoughts of younger generation on the issue of discrimination towards people living with HIV/AIDS. It also aims to fight against stigma and discrimination together with the general public.

Announcements in Public Interests

We have successfully applied for Announcements in the Public Interests (API) under the government. We are grateful to invite volunteers from M.A.C and from different sectors in the community to participate in the production. The masks used in filming are winning submissions of Mask Design Contest. This 30-second video promoting AIDS acceptance is launched onto free TV channels in HK on World AIDS Day on 1st December, 2014.

“Medicine Online” on NowTV

Production team of NowTV’s medical documentary program “Medicine Online” came to SAC’s day centre for a special featured episode “Paradise for PLWHA”. We hope that the show would help the public to emphasize with the difficult path PLWHA been through, and thus to accept them with support and care. If you wish to watch the program, please go to:
